Man charged with murder over Noosa stabbing
A man has been charged with murder after another man was found dying of stab wounds in a Noosa street.
Tewantin residents phoned Triple Zero to report a 21-year-old man lying in Ernest Street about 1am yesterday.
He had injuries to his chest and was taken to Noosa Hospital but died on arrival, the Queensland Police Service said in a statement.
Detectives have charged a 38-year-old Peregian Springs man with murder, and he is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
Doorknocking had taken place as part of the investigation, Detective Inspector Dave Drinnen said earlier.
"We have a number of investigators who are working on this investigation and we also have drawn on the homicide squad from Brisbane," he said.
The two men were known to each other, police said.
