Man dies after alleged stabbing, balcony fall in Townsville

A 39-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered in an alleged assault in Townsville in northern Queensland on June 9.

Emergency services were called to the Blackwood Street address just after 12.30am on that day after reports a man had fallen from a balcony.

A 39-year-old Kelso man was found with multiple stab wounds and life-threatening-injuries injuries from the fall.

He was transported in a critical condition to Townsville University Hospital where he died yesterday.

At the time of the alleged incident, a 51-year-old Kelso woman was charged with one count each of wounding (domestic violence offence) and grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence).

Anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist investigations is urged to come forward.

The investigation continues.
