Man detained for acting suspiciously outside Sydney Opera House

A man has been detained after he allegedly "acted suspiciously" outside the Sydney Opera House.
The 18-year-old was wearing a backpack and allegedly making extremist remarks when police and the venue's security confronted him in the Opera House forecourt at 11:20am this morning, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
The teen remains in custody as police investigations continue.
The man is believed to have a history of mental illness.
The incident comes just two days after Islamic State put out a call for lone wolf operations targetting iconic Australian locations, including the Opera House.
