Man dies after being swept away in drain

A Sydney man has died after being swept away by floodwaters in a drain, NSW Police said.
Early reports suggest the man became stuck in the drain at 3:15pm (AEDT) at the Lucas Heights Waste Management Centre.
"Unfortunately there was nothing we could do," a NSW Ambulance spokesman told AAP.

Police are in the process of recovering his body from the flooded stormwater drain.

The exact circumstances surrounding his death are still being established.
The waste management plant is operated by SITA.
It remains unclear if the man was employed at the plant.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner and WorkCover will investigate.
