Man finds 'mouse in burger' at Australia Day lunch
A Perth man has spoken of his shock at apparently finding a dead mouse in his burger during an Australia Day lunch.
Bruce Blackburn claims he discovered the mouse while biting into a burger at Inglewood’s Civic Hotel.
He told 9NEWS he was given a refund but not an apology.
Mr Blackburn said he would report the matter to the Western Australia Department of Health.
"Having Australia Day lunch and this is what Bruce got in his burger. Health dept issue… he bit into a full mouse… f---ing yuk…." Peta Blackburn wrote on Facebook, and posted images showing a mouse beside a burger.
Ms Blackburn's post has since received hundreds of comments and shares, with many Facebook users incredulous.
"There's no way this could happen," one user wrote.
A spokesperson for Spirit Hotels told 9NEWS they are "investigation the matter" and that "food safety is of paramount importance".
