Man charged with woman's death in Doonside

A 38-year-old man, who remains under police guard in hospital, has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found in a home in Sydney's west.

Police were called to a home in Doonside just after 6pm on Easter Monday where they found the body of a 42-year-old woman.

An injured man was also found inside the home and taken to Westmead Hospital, where he continues to receive treatment and is under police guard.

After investigations at the home, detectives charged the 38-year-old with murder on Wednesday.

He was refused bail and is due to appear, although probably not in person, in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
