The husband of a woman found dead in a south Sydney car park has been charged with her murder.

Victoria Comrie Cullen, 39, was found with traumatic upper-body injuries in a secluded car park at the St George and Sutherland Shire Anglers Club at Taren Point on January 22.

The woman's husband was found with self-inflicted injuries in nearby mangroves.

The man, 50, was taken to hospital and placed under police guard.

On Monday detectives charged him with murder.

He was refused bail in a bedside hearing on Tuesday to appear in Central Local Court on March 18.

Ms Cullen and her husband had been married about 15 years.

But the pair had become estranged about October last year, with the relationship breakdown sparking "a number of domestic incidents", Police Superintendent Gregory Antonjuk said.
