Man charged with online grooming offences

Police have charged a man over the alleged online grooming of a teenage girl in western Sydney.

The 26-year-old man, who allegedly made contact with the girl in late 2013 via a social networking site, was arrested on Tuesday in Bidwill and charged with four offences.

Police will allege the two had numerous online conversations that were sexual in nature.

The girl was 14 years old at the time.

The man was charged with procure child for pornographic purposes, use carriage service to procure, use carriage service to solicit child pornography and use carriage service to send indecent material to person under 16.

He was granted conditional bail and was to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday.
