Man faces court over Vic shooting murder

A man accused of the shooting murder of a man in Melbourne has faced court.

Benjamin John Monteath, 34, was shot at a home in Epping on Saturday, while another man suffered leg injuries.

A nurse who lived nearby rushed to the scene after hearing gunshots and unsuccessfully tried to revive Mr Monteath.

Jumer Selimovski, 48, was charged on Wednesday with murder and briefly faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Selimovski, of Doreen, was remanded to reappear in the same court in September.
