Detectives have charged a homeless man with murder over the death of Rose-Marie Sheehy, who was found dead in an Adelaide CBD car park last month.

The body of Ms Sheehy was found in the basement car park storeroom of the Business SA building on May 27.

Major Crime squad detectives took over the investigation soon after the grisly discovery.

Today they charged a 30-year-old man with murder. He has been refused bail to face Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police initially struggled to formally identify Ms Sheehy, who had arrived in South Australia from the Northern Territory in January.

The car park, on Greenhill Road at Unley, was used by Business SA and police allege the body may have been there for several weeks before it was discovered by Business SA workers.
