Woman 'punched in the face' in road rage attack charged

A woman who was allegedly punched in the face by a man during an ugly road rage incident on the NSW Central Coast has been charged over the incident.

Footage of the confrontation captured by a nearby motorists was uploaded to social media on Monday.

It showed a 22-year-old man approach Biance Sams, who was standing next to a vehicle, before allegedly punching her in the head.

But the video didn't show the lead up to the violence, and police allege the woman was throwing objects at the man's car.

A Current Affair earlier this week the incident was sparked after she “overtook” the male driver.

“That’s when he started tailgating us, swerving up the road,” she claimed.

The 21-year-old gave a statement to police and has been charged with multiple offences including malicious damage, being armed with intent to commit and indictable offence, and intentionally throwing objects at a vehicle.

She was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear at Wyong Local Court on September 6.

The man, 22, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is due to appear in Wyong Local Court on August 30.
