Man charged over rape on Sydney train

A man will remain in custody for another two months after he was charged over the rape of a woman on a Sydney train.

The 21-year-old woman was attacked after she boarded a train at Central Railway Station bound for Penrith at about 4.40am on Saturday, May 3.

She alighted at Penrith, where police were called.

Penrith police arrested a 30-year-old Rosehill man at Harris Park Railway Station on May 7.

He was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and appeared before Parramatta Court the same day. He was remanded in custody to reappear at Penrith Local Court on July 10.

Meanwhile, investigators want to speak with four witnesses on the train and are urging them to come forward.
