Man charged over Perth double murder

A man has been remanded in custody after being charged over a double murder in Perth's inner suburbs.

The bodies of Maree Collins, 66, and her brother Wayne Johnson, 62, were found in a unit at Victoria Park last weekend.

Luke David Fawcett, 27, faced Northbridge Magistrates Court today charged with their murder.

He was not required to enter a plea and was remanded in custody to face the WA Supreme Court on April 29, when bail will be considered.

His lawyer, Simon Freitag, later confirmed Fawcett had been in hospital after being arrested and the court had facilitated him receiving medical attention.
