Two more men charged over body found in surfboard bag at Wollongong unit block in April

Three men have been charged over the death of a man whose decomposing body was discovered stuffed in a surfboard bag at Wollongong.

Mark Dower, 56, was reportedly found inside a surfboard bag, which was found in the common laundry area of a unit block on April 16.

A post mortem revealed Mr Dower died from injuries to his body, police said.

Police today arrested and charged a 42-year-old man in Gosford with conspiracy to murder and accessory after the fact to murder.

He was refused bail and is expected to face Gosford Local Court today.

Two other men, aged 43 and 48, were arrested in jails and were being questioned by police. They have now also been charged.

Police launched an appeal over Mr Dower's death in May, saying he was well-liked.

The Crana Place unit block where his body was found has been described by a local cafe worker as a "nasty" place.

"If you've ever watched 'Housos' you'll get an idea," Con Gregs said in April.
