Man charged over infecting woman with HIV

A man accused of infecting a former lover with HIV will front a Sydney court next month.

Almost three years ago, Sydney detectives began investigating claims a man had knowingly passed on the deadly virus.

It's believed a woman contacted police last year and alleged the man had infected her with HIV.

A 44-year-old man on Tuesday was charged with maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm.

He will appear in Waverley Local Court on June 18.
