A man has been charged with deliberately hitting another man with his car moments after a stabbing in Adelaide's north.

The man, 50, allegedly hit the man with his car at Prospect yesterday after he had thrown a rock at his vehicle.

Before he was hit by a car, the man allegedly stabbed another man. All three are known to one another, police say.

The driver has been charged with causing harm by dangerous driving, driving without due care, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to render assistance at the scene of an accident.

The man who was hit by the car is in a stable condition at Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The stabbed man suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
