A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after an alleged shooting in the Ballarat suburb of Wendouree yesterday afternoon.
Police tracked down the Ballarat man in Melton, in Melbourne's outer-west, late last night after a 25-year-old man was allegedly shot in the face.
The victim was rushed to the Ballarat Base Hospital before he was flown to Melbourne in a serious condition.

Police say the alleged shooting took place outside a Clover Street home around 3pm yesterday.
A neighbour told 9News they "just heard a bang, and then this little car went flying down the road".

"It's very concerning, a little bit goes on on this street... but if you stay inside you know nothing about it and you're not involved," the neighbour said.
Alongside the attempted murder charge, the 49-year-old man was charged with intentionally causing serious injury, being a prohibited person possessing a firearm and reckless conduct endangering life.
He will face a court again in July.
