Man charged after woman confronted by gang

A man has been charged after a woman was threatened by an armed gang in Sydney's west.

The woman answered a knock at her front door on Whiting Street at Regents Park on Saturday night and was confronted by a number of men pointing guns at her.

Police put Whiting Street in lockdown but the men got away.

A 23-year-old man turned himself in to Auburn police station on Sunday afternoon.

He was charged with threatening injury to a person and intimidation and will appear in Burwood Local Court on June 3.
