Disqualified NSW driver stung riding petrol-powered bicycle
A 36-year-old man who had been disqualified from driving has been charged after police found him riding an petrol-powered BMX bicycle around a rural New South Wales town.
Gunnedah Highway Patrol officers received complaints from members of the public regarding a loud noise in Quirindi, in the state's north west, last night.
Police detected the rider to be travelling at 47 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone.

The frame of the motorised bicycle was modified with the pedals banded together, police said.
A motor, fuel tank and speedometer had also been attached, characterising the bicycle as unsafe and unroadworthy.
Police allege they found the rider's NSW Provisional P2 car license had been disqualified until December 2022.

The rider was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle with a disqualified license.
All petrol-powered bicycles are illegal on NSW roads and road-related areas such as footpaths and cycle paths.
