Man charged after alleged hit and run on the NSW Central Coast

A man has been charged after allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his car on the NSW Central Coast and then leaving the scene.

Police alleged the driver crashed into a parked car before hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene at Forresters Beach about 7.30pm last night.

The 26-year-old driver was arrested in Bateau Bay at around 10pm.

Paramedics treated the 42-year-old pedestrian at the scene, who was then taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.

The man allegedly became aggressive during the arrest and assaulted a police officer.

Police seized the man's white Ford Ranger ute along with almost $6000 in cash.

The 26-year-old has been granted strict conditional bail and his license was suspended.
