Man charged after allegedly sexually assaulting teenage girl in Bega public toilet

A 40-year-old man has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in Bega yesterday.

Police allege the man was drinking in a park on Zingel Place, before he assaulted the 14-year-old girl just after 4.20pm.

He allegedly struck up a conversation with the girl, forced her into a nearby public toilet and sexually assaulted her, the NSW Police Force said in a statement.

She reported the attack to police and the man was arrested a short time later in a nearby hotel.

He was charged with four counts of sexual assault with a person under the under 16 and indecent assault.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Batemans Bay Local Court tomorrow.
