Man charged with vandalising 20 cars, torching bins in Albert Park

A man has been charged after he allegedly damaged more than 20 cars and set fire to bins in Melbourne last week.

Police allege the man damaged and scratched about 20 cars on Carter Street and Canterbury Road in Albert Park overnight between September 29 and 30.

He is also accused of lighting multiple bin fires on Dundas Place and Brooke Street on Wednesday night last week.

A 39-year-old from Ringwood East was arrested in Dandenong last Friday.

He was charged with criminal damage and arson.

He was held in police custody and will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on October 18.
