Man charged after 100 kilograms of illegal fireworks seized in police raids
Commercial fireworks weighing 100 kilograms have been seized following a five-month investigation into the trafficking of illegal fireworks via social media.
Victoria Police allege the illegal fireworks were advertised for sale on social media platforms.
Detectives raided five properties yesterday, including two homes in Craigieburn and three businesses in Campbellfield.
They seized illegal fireworks, prohibited weapons, drugs, cash and a motorbike.

"A large amount of illegal commercial fireworks were seized as a result of today's operation," Detective Inspector Steve Soden from the Arson and Explosives Squad said.
"Commercial fireworks are classed as a type of explosive and banned for use by the general public because they are extremely dangerous in untrained hands."
A 37-year-old Craigieburn man has been charged with a number of offences including possessing explosives.
He was bailed to face court at a later date.
Detective Inspector Soden said commercial fireworks were "unpredictable and volatile" and could result in serious injury or death, as well as grassfires and bushfires.

"If you're caught with illegal fireworks, not only do you face a prison sentence of up to 15 years and thousands of dollars in fines, you're putting yourself, your friends, family and the community in danger," he said.
"Victoria Police will continue to target anyone caught possessing or using illegal fireworks."
The investigation remains ongoing.
