Man burned in gas leak in Sydney's west

A man has been burnt in an explosion after a suspected gas leak in Sydney's west.

Police said that at about 8.45am (AEDT) on Friday emergency services were called to a business in Liverpool after reports a man had been burnt in an explosion.

They found a man believed to be in his 30s with burns.

He was assessed by ambulance paramedics on site before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Fire & Rescue NSW officers are working to find out the cause of the apparent leak and evacuated surrounding shops and residences as a precaution.
