Man assaulted in Wagga Wagga

A man has a suspected fractured eye socket after being assaulted in Wagga Wagga in NSW's southwest.
Police say the 30-year-old man was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital by ambulance paramedics at about 3.45pm (AEDT) on Monday and he told officers he had been assaulted earlier in the day at Mt Austin.
The man had suffered a suspected fractured eye socket and was unable to provide police with much further information.

Police said initial reports indicate a group of men of Aboriginal appearance were involved in the incident on or about Jack Avenue.
