Man arrested over Vic shooting death

A man arrested over a shooting death in a Melbourne street has been released.

A 47-year-old man was found shot dead on a suburban street in West Heidelberg on Tuesday.

Homicide detectives arrested a 29-year-old Preston man on Thursday after raiding his house, where they found stolen property including cars and motorcycles.

Police said the man has not been ruled out as a suspect, but has been released pending further inquiries.

Local police are interviewing the man over the stolen property.
