Man arrested over Sydney house fire

A man has been arrested after a fire destroyed a house and injured a firefighter in Sydney's south.
The unoccupied weatherboard home in Pitt Street, Mortdale was engulfed by flames about 6.30am on Monday.
It took more than an hour to bring the blaze under control, and one firefighter received minor injuries as emergency services stopped the flames spreading to nearby homes.

A man in his 30s was arrested at Central Station at 7.20am.
He was taken to Surry Hills police station and questioned about the fire.
