Three people were charged at the scene with offences related to the incident.

The 31-year-old was arrested at Day Street Police Station on Wednesday and charged with reckless wounding and affray.

A 23-year-old was arrested on Wednesday at a service station on Waterloo Road at Greenacre and was charged with assault.

Police say at this stage it is too early to link the latest shooting with any gangland crime activity.

Police are investigating whether the shooting is related to a major drug syndicate bust which took place in Sydney on Tuesday that saw 18 people arrested.
