Attempted murder charge after worker allegedly stabbed with knife at Melbourne store
A 48-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a shop attendant with a kitchen knife at a Port Melbourne tobacco store.
Police believe the man allegedly stabbed the worker, a 64-year-old woman, at the shop on Bay Street about 9.40am on Tuesday.
The woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains.

A crime scene was established on Bay Streeet. Nine
Police said the man fled the scene on foot.
The man was arrested at a home on Pickles Street yesterday morning.
Police have since charged the Port Melbourne man with attempted murder.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on December 11.
