A man has been banned from the G20 after taking photos without permission on the steps of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is now a restricted area.

Police will allege the 57-year-old man was seen taking photos on the steps of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre - where most of the G20 events will be held.

He was arrested after he allegedly repeatedly refused to provide his details and argued with officers.

He is the fourth person to be handed an exclusion notice under the G20 legislation.

The mission to fortify Brisbane ahead of the G20 has now officially begun.

Three kilometres of fencing has become the first sign of the exclusion zone.

Extra police are now officially out in force and the delegation from Saudi Arabia has touched down.

Organisers hope the $450 million it has cost to put on the event will put Brisbane on the global map for the right reasons.
