Teen charged in St Kilda beach brawl

A man has been charged and another arrested after a brawl broke out on Melbourne's St Kilda beach.

A large number of youths gathered in St Kilda on Saturday night and a fight broke out along the foreshore shortly after 10.30pm, police said on Sunday.

Police also responded to reports of a robbery and assault in the area.

Two men, aged 24 and 26, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a 20-year-old man sustained minor injuries and declined treatment.

A 19-year-old Truganina man has been charged with assault, making threats to kill, possession of cannabis and breach of bail, and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Sunday.

A second man was interviewed and released pending summons in relation to the possession of a prohibited weapon.
