Maltese terrier steers jet ski through water

A sun and surf loving dog has taken its Christmas present for a spin on the Gold Coast.

Video shared by Casey Everleigh on Instagram shows the Maltese terrier, ‘Ellie’, steering a jet ski in crystal clear shallows at Broadwater yesterday afternoon.

“This is how dogs roll on the Gold Coast,” Mr Everleigh wrote, adding that the five-year-old canine had been gifted the ski “from Santa”.

The blogger told 9news.com.au the video was captured right on the edge of the shoreline away from boats and people.

He said the adventurous Ellie “loves going out”.

“We thought it would be fun to do a little video of her riding up front.”

The clip has garnered a lot of attention since it was posted, with many praising the pooch’s skills.

“This is gold,” one commenter wrote.

Another added “absolute natural,” along with a slew of ‘thumbs up’ emoji icons.
