This woman's reaction to Malcolm Turnbull on a tram says it all

It’s not every day that you sit down on your commute to work to find yourself opposite the prime minister.

As Malcolm Turnbull was moved to douse the latest eruption to his fractured Liberal party today, he returned to the tram lines of Melbourne to the surprise of his fellow tram-hoppers.

On his way to talk up the Coalition’s jobs and infrastructure plan with MP Darren Chester, he jumped on tram number 109 and shared his travels on Snapchat.

Except, as 9NEWS reporter Charles Croucher noticed, no one seemed to care - particularly the woman opposite, who decided to keep her headphones on and didn’t acknowledge Mr Turnbull’s presence.

The photo has sent the internet into overdrive as social media users attempt to make sense of the surprising exchange.

At a time when disunity and blood-letting are pervading the Coalition government, this woman’s face appears to say it all.
