Major delays are affecting trains across Brisbane this morning after a truck got caught in an overhead line at the Beams Road level crossing in Carseldine.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 5.20am after police received reports a truck load had become tangled with powerlines.

The driver, also the sole occupant, was uninjured.

Translink has suspended the Caboolture, Redcliffe Peninsula and Sunshine Coast train lines from Northgate to Petrie as a result.

It warned commuters to expect delays up to 60 minutes and to explore other travel options.

Replacement buses have been organised.

Road diversions are also in place, with motorists advised to avoid the area or expect extensive delays until this afternoon.
