M5 reopens following truck fire

The M5 East has been re-opened following road repairs after a truck fire this morning. 

All westbound lanes of the M5 East were closed near General Holmes Drive in Kyeemagh due to the incident just before 7am. 

Detours have now been lifted.

Traffic remains heavy in both directions. At the peak of the delays, queues stretched for up to two kilometres. 

Motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time due to significant delays.

Buses are delayed by about 30 minutes.
