Major gas leak in north Melbourne

An evacuation is underway after a serious gas leak in Melbourne's north.
Emergency services are clearing the immediate vicinity near the intersection of Pascoe Vale Road and Finchley Avenue in Glenroy after a 30cm high pressure gas main ruptured during peak rush hour on Thursday.
MFB spokesperson Trevor Woodward said it was a serious gas leak but they are unsure what caused the rupture.

The intersection has been closed with emergency services diverting traffic away from the area.
