Police are searching for four young Perth men after they allegedly stole and dumped a luxury car before robbing a home and stealing another vehicle.

The young men had elicited suspicion when they stopped to fill up the Aston Martin, worth $350,000, at a BP petrol station in Ballajura this morning. The gang had allegedly broken into a home in Hillarys and stole the luxury vehicle the night before.

The petrol attendant asked for a prepayment and one of the men handed over $40. After spotting a police car, the man filling up the car abruptly stopped.

Police lost sight of the vehicle and it was found dumped at a Darch residence 30 minutes later.

The Darch home’s occupants said they heard it pull up, and witnessed the four men running away. Car keys and other items were found in a nearby nursery.

The men then allegedly broke into a nearby property.

The home's occupant, Rosemary, said she found the men rummaging in her bedroom dresser where she kept her jewellery.

She said her scream prompted them to run away and they then allegedly stole her 2008 gold Land Rover Freelander, which was later found dumped in Balga.
