Longtime Today show contributor Dr Ric Gordon dies, aged 69

Longtime Today show contributor Dr Ric Gordon has died of pancreatic cancer.

He was 69-years-old.

Professionally known as Dr Ric Porter, he was a highly respected obstetrician and fertility specialist.

Gordon was part of the team responsible for the first IVF birth in New South Wales in 1983.

During his career, he delivered more than 5000 babies.

Dr Ric first became part of the Nine family with the popular series Good Medicine.

The series ran for nine years, from 1993.
