Queensland man charged over alleged stabbing that left victim fighting for life

A man has been charged over the alleged stabbing of another person during a fight south of Brisbane.

Police allege the altercation occurred at a home on Wagensveldt Street in Slacks Creek, Logan around 8.35pm last night, resulting in a 23-year-old man sustaining a single wound to his chest.

The man was then transported to hospital in a critical condition and is still fighting for life.

A 26-year-old man was taken into custody last night at a home in Carina Heights, around 20 kilometres away, and was this morning questioned by detectives.

Today he has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, according to a Queensland Police statement.

He is expected to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court later today.
