Business owners devastated after group of thieves hit six Queensland stores

Police are hunting up to five people who went on a destructive rampage early this morning across several suburbs in Logan, Queensland.

Masked thieves were seen using what appeared to be a crowbar to smash the glass window and vandalise an optometrist in Underwood.

They took off with sunglasses and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.

It was the third time Louie Park's business had been targeted in less than a year.

"Terrible," he said.

"This area is getting worse and worse."

Park's business was one of at least six crime scenes this morning.

The same group of thieves also targeted service stations in Slacks Creek and Underwood, a Woolworths in Browns Plains and a burger restaurant in Waterford Rest.

At a Friendly Grocer in Meadowbrook, a hammer was used to smash through the building before the group took off with almost $30,000 worth of stock.

"Very shocked this happened," Friendly Grocer's Philip Li said.

For the glass repair man at Ultimate Glass, Nathen Hazelgrove, it was just another Tuesday.

"For us, it's keeping us busy, but it sucks to see them go through all this," Hazelgrove said.

"Got a call at two in the morning and then five in the morning.

"They're making a lot of damage for the stuff they grab."

Police spent this morning combing each shopfront searching for clues and are continuing to search for those responsible.
