Lizard on the loose: Runaway reptile breaks out of WA police lock-up

Police in a rural Western Australian town can rest a little easier after recapturing an escaped inmate – a pesky gecko.

In a series of images posted to Carnarvon Police’s social media channels, the runaway reptile was spotted as it scurried along the walls of the local station.

After a brief taste of freedom, the lizard was recaptured.

Police said the gecko later made bail, on what must have been an otherwise quiet night for criminals in Carnarvon.
