Pilot dead after Mildura plane crash

The pilot of a light plane that crashed and burst into flames in Mildura, in northwestern Victoria, has died at the scene.
The twin engine private plane crashed about 6.30pm, Victoria Police said in a statement.

Its 57-year-old male pilot, from Boeill Creek, died at the scene.
The crash happened near the intersection of Seventeenth Street and Dyar Avenue, and police believe the plane had been flying from Moorabbin airport to Mildura.
Australian Transport Safety Bureau investigators will inspect the site tomorrow, and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
