Libs have to get out and campaign: Kroger

Liberal Party members have been told to stop talking to each other and get out to meet swinging voters.

That's the blunt assessment of incoming Victorian party president Michael Kroger after the coalition's bitter state election loss.

He says the dozens of meetings involving party members must raise money, sign up new members or campaign.

"If they're just information sessions or a barbecue ... then I query whether in the modern era that's a good way of moving forward," he told Sky News on Monday.

Mr Kroger reportedly has told a Liberal forum the party is made up of old people and careerist MPs and it has to toughen up and learn from the recruitment tactics of the Greens.
