Lib hits 'lack of will' for boots in Syria

A Liberal backbencher has joined calls to put boots on the ground in the campaign to defeat Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.

Dennis Jensen criticised the "lack of political will" from the western world to combat IS on the field.

"We have no choice but to comprehensively defeat ISIS in the field ... far more has to be done than simply plinking a few targets a day from the air as the west has been doing," he told parliament on Monday.
