Actor Liam Neeson has spent an unforgettable two days visiting Syrian refugee children and their families in Jordan.

Neeson, a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, visited the Za’atari refugee camp, near the Syrian border, with his eldest son Michael, The Journal.ie reports.

The father and son spent time with Syrian families whose lives have been affected by the ongoing conflict in their country.

“Every person has a story of loss and of witnessing horrific violence that no one – least of all a child – should ever have to see,” Neeson told The Journal.ie.

“I truly admire the strength and spark of the children I met, the girls in particular.

“They want to be doctors, lawyers, police officers and engineers, so that when they can go back to Syria they can rebuild their country.”

UNICEF representative Robert Jenkins said the actor’s visit would help highlight the plight of Syrian refugees.
