Large-scale search for missing NSW man underway

Nearly 100 specialist emergency personnel will scour the NSW far south coast this weekend for an elderly man who went missing from a retirement home almost a month ago.

Raymond Speechley, 77, was last seen at a Dalmeny retirement home on June 7.

He was wearing jeans and a dark jacket with a pyjama top and may have tried to get to the Wollongong area, police say.

A man similar in description to Mr Speechley was seen on the Princes Highway in Dalmeny, just north of Narooma, a few days after he disappeared.

A two-day search by 90 specialist SES crew and rural firefighters will begin on Saturday morning.
