A magistrate has warned Lara Bingle she will go to jail if she breaks the law as the model was given a six-month suspended sentence for driving twice without licence.

Bingle was also banned from driving for two years and fined $2000 at Waverly Local Court in Sydney on Tuesday morning.

Magistrate Claire Farnan spent five minutes berating Bingle about her "very poor" driving record, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Farnan warned 26-year-old Bingle that if she breaches her suspended sentence she will go to jail, tweeted Channel Nine reporter Kelly Fedor.

"These laws apply to everyone," Farnan said.

The court heard Bingle was a good student at a six-week traffic offenders program she was ordered to attend.

Bingle's traffic problems stem from 2012, when she was slapped with an 18-month good behaviour bond and $3500 fine after she failed to give way and collided with a motorcycle rider while on a suspended licence.

She was later caught driving on a disqualified licence in October and November 2013.
