Lambie calls it quits on marathon debate

Independent senator Jacqui Lambie has raised the white flag against fighting changes to the way Australians vote for the Senate.

Senator Lambie has called it quits on a marathon session in the upper house, saying she had an appointment to meet with workers instead.

"It's a done deal. There's nothing more for me to say ... so I'm getting on with the job," she told ABC radio on Friday morning.
