Not content with one campaign launch, Labor is holding a second such an event in Brisbane on Sunday.

This will clash with the Liberal Party's official launch in Sydney.

Labor confirmed with AAP the event on Friday, saying it will double as a "save Medicare rally".

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the Liberals had forgotten Queensland.

"Queenslanders deserve better and they will get it from a Shorten Labor government," he said.

"The race is on to save Medicare."

He said the Turnbull government has already begun cutting the heart out of the system by undermining bulk-billing, adding new up-front fees and increasing the price of medicine.

"If the Liberals get the green light at this election they will take Australian healthcare right down the American road," he said.
