New poll shows rise in support for Labor party

Voter support for the federal Labor party is at its highest level since Malcolm Turnbull became Prime Minister in July's election.

The latest Newspoll, published in the Australian, found the opposition is leading the coalition on a two party preferred basis.

The poll of 1846 people showed Labor leading the Liberals, 53 percent to 47 percent. 

Despite the rise in Labor voter support, the Prime Minister's satisfaction rate lifted one point to 30 percent, along with his dissatisfaction rate to 58 percent, while Opposition Leader Bill Shorten's rates are steady at 36 percent and 51 percent, respectively.
